MIFEGEST KIT TABLET is a combination of two medicines, which are used for medical abortion (termination of pregnancy). This drug blocks the action of progesterone, a female hormone needed to maintain pregnancy and contract the uterus, which further aids in miscarriage.

MIFEGEST KIT TABLET should be taken with food or as recommended by your doctor. You must begin with a single dose of Mifepristone. It should be taken orally, with the tablets swallowed whole with a glass of water. If you feel sick within 30 minutes of taking the tablet, tell your doctor or take another tablet. It may take 24-48 hours for the medication to work and you may experience spotting or bleeding. After 36-48 hours, you will need to take Misoprostol tablets, either orally or vaginally. You are advised to take adequate rest after taking this dose as it may cause severe abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding which may lead to miscarriage.

The most common side effects of this medication include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. If these bother you or seem severe, tell your doctor. Some side effects may mean you should tell your doctor immediately if you have heavy vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had an ectopic pregnancy, or if you are breast-feeding or using an intrauterine device. Your doctor should also know about all the other medicines you are taking because many of them can make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You should avoid strenuous activities such as heavy exercise, running and driving during pregnancy as it can affect the bleeding. Your doctor may do an ultrasound or pelvic exam to check if the miscarriage is complete.
